Why we're different

Home & Community Support was created to offer a more personal and thoughtful way of receiving support at home and in the community. We know that every client has different needs, preferences, goals and circumstances, which is why we take the time to understand the person first.

Rather than simply placing any available worker into a shift, we focus on finding the right fit and building a team around each client. That may include support with personal care, domestic assistance, social connection, daily living tasks, in-home respite or other practical support that helps everyday life feel more manageable.

We support NDIS, DVA and My Aged Care recipients across Yorke Peninsula, with a strong focus on respectful communication, familiar faces and support that feels comfortable, not clinical or rushed.

Decades of care behind what we do

The experience behind Home & Community Support began long before the business became what it is today. Our founder has worked in the care space since 1996, beginning with 14 years running a day care in Canada and supporting several children with specific needs. From there, she moved into education before relocating to Australia, where she continued working in educational settings for another seven years.

In 2015, Home & Community Support began as a sole trader business, working alongside home care providers across the Southern Yorke Peninsula before growing into a Pty Ltd company with a dedicated team of employees. This background has shaped the way we work today: practical, people-focused and grounded in real experience across care, education and individual support.

Values that shape every interaction

Our values influence how we communicate, how we match support workers with clients and how we respond when a person’s needs change. At Home & Community Support, we aim to provide support that feels respectful, fair and genuinely connected to the person receiving it.

Collaboration

Good support often involves working together. We communicate with clients, families, carers, support coordinators and other providers to help create support that is practical, consistent and aligned with the person’s needs.

Altruism

We care about doing the right thing, even when that means looking beyond our own team. If we are not the right fit for a client’s needs, we will be honest and do our best to connect them with another provider who may be better suited.

Our mission

We exist to provide exceptional care that helps vulnerable people live safer, healthier and more independent lives.

We build genuine relationships with every client, treating them with dignity, respect and compassion.

We develop outstanding leaders, communicators and carers who take pride in making a meaningful difference every day.

By investing in our people, maintaining the highest standards of care, and supporting one another as a team, we become the trusted choice for families and the community across the Yorke Peninsula.

Our vision

We improve the quality of life for vulnerable people across the Yorke Peninsula.

Support that starts with the right match

A big part of our approach is creating a team that suits the client, not just filling shifts. We consider personality, communication style, support needs, goals and routines so clients can feel more comfortable with the people coming into their home or supporting them in the community.

Our employees bring a broad range of skills, qualifications and experience, including individual support, children’s services, education and community-based care. This allows us to offer support that is practical and flexible, while still keeping the relationship between client and support worker at the centre of what we do.
